This post is thanks to a gifted collaboration with Dounia Home.

Lighting in my home is more than simply being able to see the way around. I’m all about creating a vibe. Morrocan lamps and fixtures are light sources I’ve always been drawn to because of the beautifully diffused, ambient glow that shines through their intricate designs in pierced metal. I spotted this Morrocan-style fixture at Dounia Home and was instantly attracted to its geometric shape and ornate pattern.

Dounia Tamri-Loeper, founder of Dounia Home, says, “Home décor has many layers. Lighting is the jewelry that brings the décor together.” I love Dounia Home’s blend of modern and vintage, and the way soft light filters through their hand-stamped metal lampshades when illuminated. I’m all about creating a mood with light sources, and typically I have multiple candles burning whether in the studio or at home in the evenings. The lighting from this fixture creates an elegant ambience, similar to the effect of lit candles.

Something I observed after hanging the ULA semi-flush mount light is the transformational effect of beautiful lighting even in small spaces like this short hallway. I’m so happy with how it turned out, and can say this won’t be the only Dounia Home fixture I will have in my home. With the variety of styles, customizable sizes and finishes, I’ll be able to create a cohesive look throughout without being too matchy-matchy.

Here are some of my favorites from their collection I’m currently eyeing (with links below):

3. Lila Pendant Light, Gunmetal
6. Amur Chandelier, Brass
7. Aria Pendant Light, Gunmetal
